Project overview

The house was being renovated throughout after rewiring and replumbing. Several ceilings were cracked and bowing, walls had decades of patch repairs, and a new open-plan kitchen and living space had been formed by removing internal walls.

Scope of works

  • Ceilings over-boarded and skimmed throughout
  • Walls hacked off and re-plastered where blown
  • Skim to all remaining walls
  • Stairwell plastered using a tower scaffold
  • Making good after steel installation

The challenge

The family was living on site for the first half of the project, and the stairwell had a large wall area under direct light from a new roof window.

Our solution

Work was phased floor by floor with sealed dust screens, and the stairwell wall was plastered in a single continuous working day to avoid visible joints under the roof light.
